Niv Meirson’s research focuses on environmental law, climate law, and the role of oil giants in the climate crisis. He is a member of the Climate & Environment Legal Clinic and works with the Firefly Association (NGO), promoting environmental and public health class actions. His professional experience includes policy coordination at Green Course (NGO) and employment in the legal department of the Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection. Niv contributed to drafting a constitutional climate petition for the Israeli High Court of Justice (HCJ 7063/23 Green Course v. The Government of Israel) and founded the Law & Environment Student Club at the Hebrew University. Niv was the first-place winner in the National Hackathon on climate justice policy for his Progressive and Just Carbon Tax proposal. He currently hosts the Hebrew University Center for Sustainability Podcast.
